Klaus joined IKEA back in 1992, when they were building a store near his university campus and since then, has been working on local, national, European & global level, as well as having a short stint as a business-developer (purchaser) for B2C transport & delivery services for the German retail market – at a time when the “technology platform” still primarily consisted of spreadsheets, a self-build database and a mainframe email-client - which somehow motivated him change to the technology side of the business.
The last 16 years Klaus, together with a diverse and global business team, had the responsibility for the implementation, development and business support of the global IKEA Transport sourcing (& optimisation-) solutions. The last 10 years he’s been the Solution Owner (and evangelist) for Sourcing Optimisation and Coupa’s CSO at Inter-IKEA.
Klaus is now employed at IKEA Purchasing GmbH in Dortmund, Germany (a division of the INTER-IKEA-Group), supporting global teams at IKEA Supply AG, IKEA Food AB, IKEA Communications AB and IKEA of Sweden AB.
